My mother and me, 1980.
She shaped so much of who I became—and watching her write, line by line, is where I first caught the writing bug. She was the inspiration behind The Little Black Book, and in many ways, everything I’ve ever done. I only wish she knew.

I write memoir, fiction and literary nonfiction drawn from a life fully lived—stories shaped by experience, memory, and a watchful eye for the moments that stay with us.

My piece, The Little Black Book, earned 1st place in the Writer’s Digest Annual Competition—feel free to head to the Stories tab and read it.

Every now and then, I slip in some fiction—but is it?

I’m currently at work on a novel, tentatively titled Cousins that takes place at Newport Beach in 1969, and explores the effects of drugs, sex and rock n roll on the unsupervised teens that dominated the era.
